Trunk-or-Treat / Spooktacular 2023

This Friday, October 27, the Senior Class Council will carry on their tradition of hosting the EWG Trunk-or-Treat in the Senior High parking lot. The event will start at 5pm, and children will “trunk or treat” from approximately 40 cars and participate in a variety of other activities.

This is the third year of the Trunk-or-Treat, and the expectations are high. In the past, the event has had over 40 trunks and has brought together more than 500 district students for a fun-filled night. In addition to candy, there has been plenty of food to enjoy in years past, including local donuts and apple cider, which were available for purchase. The Trunk-or-Treat is typically a very lively event, encompassing activities such as pumpkin painting and a contest for the best-decorated trunk. This year is set to live up to the high expectations with the return of fan-favorite attractions such as Allie’s Donuts, pumpkin painting, face painting, and family-friendly games.

With so much to offer, the Trunk-or-Treat will be a blast for both parents and kids. However, the excitement doesn’t stop there. According to Natasha Parascandolo, a representative for the Senior Class Council, “There is going to be an art festival going on at the same time.” That’s right, the Trunk-or-Treat is overlapping with the Spooktacular Art Festival, allowing for those in attendance to enjoy candy, art, and activities from both events all in one night.

“You’re going to find a lot more decorating happening… a lot more people are taking it seriously this year.”

Natasha Parascandolo, Senior Class Council Representative

It seems that this year is shaping up to be the best Trunk-or-Treat yet, especially considering, as Parascandolo stated, “You’re going to find a lot more decorating happening… we didn’t have as much mobility last year, and this year we know what to expect. So, as far as decorations go, a lot more people are taking it seriously this year. So, you’re going to see a lot more fall decor.” There seems to be a lot going on at this year’s Spooktacular/Trunk-or-Treat, and hopefully, many people will come and enjoy this year’s Halloween-themed events.
