Wildlife Management Field Trips

On May 12, Mrs. Ward’s Wildlife Management class took a field trip to Arcadia Management Area to release into the wild the salmon that they had raised. In this annual field trip, they released 180 fish into the Wood River.

In the video below, we interviewed Mrs. Ward about this trip and another trip that her class took in cooperation with RI DEM. We were also able to interview Jared Sweet, a student who participated.

Correction: Although our video report states that over 1000 salmon were released, the actual number is about 180. Mrs. Ward estimates that over 1000 salmon have been released by this class over the past 15 years.
