EWG wind turbine Team competes in nationals

From May 16 – 19, the Exeter-West Greenwich Wind Turbine Team has been in San Antonio, Texas to showcase their wind turbines in a national competition. Students participating on this trip include Nikolas Angell, Nathaniel Powers, Emily Yoon, Brielle Bamberry, Jesse Ruscito, and Akira Hall.

In this segment, our reporters Samantha Gordon and Danae Mahan-Audette interview seniors, Nikolas Angell and Nathaniel Powers about their involvement in the team.

Update: EWG team returns successful

The wind turbine team returned successful from San Antonio, bringing home several awards, according to team advisor Mrs. Biagioni: “Unstoppable Wind Meets Immovable Turbine (Nick Angell and Nathaniel Powers) won the “Spirit of KidWind Award”! They came in second in Quiz Bowl. Panda Blades was in the top 10 too. EWG came in second in the Collegiate Instant Challenge. Everyone did well in the Hydro and Solar Array Challenges, and the Interviews.”

For Mrs. Biagioni, this experience was valuable to students. “They overcame challenge after challenge with grace,” she said.
