Mercury Junior: JHS Baseball Preseason

The season is about to start for the Exeter West Greenwich Middle School boys baseball team, and it promises to be action packed and full of fun. The boys will play tough competition and practice hard throughout the whole season. With new teammates from 7th grade coming up, will they be better or worse?

We interviewed a couple stars on the team, Dylan Main and Joseph Simoes, to get their preseason thoughts. According to the First Baseman Joey Simoes, “we got a lot of 7th graders coming up to play, so I think we will have a better season.” The starting catcher had the same idea. Dylan Main stated, “I think we will be a little bit better than last year.”

The team has been working hard during the off-season, and hopefully it will pay off in the 10 games they play. In order to compete with every team, they “gotta be able to field the ball,” as Dylan Main said.

Simoes added, “We all gotta work hard…be consistent.”

Make sure to come out and support our Exeter-West Greenwich Middle School Baseball team. The players of the team will post game times and the location of the games on their social media.
