Local Outlook: Exeter Public Library Summer Programs

As summer approaches, the Exeter Public Library is gearing up to offer literacy-based programs on behalf of young people in the community. Beginning June 27 and running through August 23, all children aged 5-18 can find something for them.

Children aged 5-12 can track how much time they spend reading this summer. If they spend at least 15 minutes per day over the course of 30 days, they can receive a goodie bag and a coupon for a free Black Dog donut. They are also eligible to attend the library’s end of summer party, featuring the Rainbow Beard show. Registration is required.

Teens aged 13-18 who meet the reading goals can additionally earn raffle tickets for each day spent reading. For high school students, these programs are an excellent opportunity to get more out of their summer reading assignment.

Additional summer programs include Monday Funday (beginning in July), Storytime Fridays, Book and Movie clubs (beginning June 29), Dave Marchetti’s Animal Experience, Wandering Trails, a Minecraft STEM challenge, Teen art and poetry, and more.

The library will also participate in the 7 Rivers Festival June 25 & 26.
